A Dream of Salvation

For many days I walked
Farther than the eye of man could see
Farther than the people could fathom.

Passing through sand and dissipating stone
I find myself near the ledge of a  mountain
And take rest on a rock.

My body whimpers under the beat of the sun rays
As it was mid-afternoon
A time of discomfort in the heart of the desert.

I rest my head
An instant that rekindles a flame in my heart
The one that brought me to this place.

I am compelled to close my eyelids; to pray
I send my signal toward to universe
And abandon my own line of thought.

I ask for the blessing
That I may help the people suffering
In this land of the world.

From the elevation of this place
Where land looks like split lips and blood
Where the people starve even in the light of day.

I request with my own heed
For the sins of all people
That lay silent in the heart of the land.

Given the grace of connection
I acknowledge God and I am ready
I ask to receive all the pain.

All at once, I feel what the people had suffered from
So that their hearts would love
And their bones would stay strong.

As a servant of the Universe
I came from a light to fill the gap
Between the common and the extraordinary.

To decipher that we are created equal
But not the same
As I ached I took the depths of all.

For a moment there was peace
For a moment the Earth took rest
For in that moment I was the salvation of all.

A Sleep Story

Laying properly on my side
I am awake in my mind,
I am awake.
My mind leads me to a field.
In the distance,
the sun dances off a house.
Inside I see a familiar face
Many children
This house keeps me for the night
I lay down to sleep
But my body is restless
So I wander outside
And gaze upon a sea of stars.
A pond is what I drift to next.
I stare into the water
as a man interludes me.
A writer, a husband, a cross dresser
He approaches in heels
From his jacket he pulls three majestic stones
‘Take these to the end of the world’ he says
Handing me the glowing rounds, he dissipates
This image leaves my eyes
I become a visual movement of my own
I watch as I turn to the edge of the pond
Placing two stones into the Earth
But the last one I want to hold
I bring it to my mouth
A lush bite is filling
Unaware I have traveled back to the house
I suddenly realize what I need to be doing
In a moment I am running
Time is not closing
My mind is
I trip into the water
Reaching out my palm
With the round that is left
Dipping my soul into it
As the glowing rounds circulate the Earth
My mind flows into the stream
My consciousness is awakened.

Hypnic Jerk

A lesson learned
A story told
Let the prophecy unfold
In the nights around us
Listen for a melody
That can carry a soul
I hope this one speaks to you
Hear me in the brim hours
When you look at no one to hold
And you blink heavy
Not a thought in mind
Carried into sleep
By this gentle rhymn
And you begin to drift
Where did everything go?
The question is to you
The answer is unknown.
